Gene Sloan

As Cruise Team Lead, Gene Sloan oversees cruise content at TPG and also writes many of TPG's main cruise guides. He has spent nearly 30 years writing about cruise ships and cruising, and he is one of the world's best-known authorities on the topic.

Gene's writing on cruising has appeared in more than 70 publications, including USA Today (where he oversaw cruise content for nearly two decades), Afar magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times, The Arizona Republic and the Indianapolis Star. He has also served as a cruise expert for the Travel Channel and co-authored five guides to cruising for Frommer's. He has sailed on more than 170 ocean and river cruise ships operated by 40 cruise brands.
